- Activate yeast:
Mix yeast with lukewarm milk and a little sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy. - Prepare dough:
In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add butter, egg yolks, and yeast mixture. Knead into a smooth dough. - Divide dough into 3 equal parts.
- Assemble layers:
Roll out the first portion and place it in a greased baking pan. - Spread half of the apricot jam, then sprinkle with half of the walnut-sugar mixture.
- Add the second dough layer and repeat the filling.
- Place the final dough layer on top.
- Rest:
Let the assembled cake rest for 30–40 minutes. Prick the top with a fork.
🔥 Bake:
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F)
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until lightly golden
- Chocolate topping:
Melt chocolate with butter or oil and spread over the cooled cake. - Let it set completely, then slice into squares.
