- Activate yeast:
Mix yeast with lukewarm milk and a little sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Prepare dough:
In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. - Add butter, egg, and yeast mixture.
- Knead into a smooth dough and divide into 3 equal parts.
- Prepare filling:
Mix ground walnuts with sugar and lemon zest.
- Assemble layers:
Roll out one dough portion and place in a baking pan. - Spread half of the apricot jam, then sprinkle half of the walnut mixture.
- Repeat with second layer.
- Top with the third dough layer.
- Bake:
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). - Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden. Let cool completely.
- Add glaze:
Heat cream and pour over chopped chocolate. - Stir until smooth, then add butter.
- Spread glaze evenly over the cake.
- Let set before slicing into squares.
