👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the puff pastry sheets separately until golden and crisp. Let them cool.
  2. Heat most of the milk in a pot. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks, sugar, pudding powder (or cornstarch), vanilla, and remaining milk until smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture into the hot milk and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened into a custard.
  4. In another bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form, then gradually add sugar and continue beating until glossy.
  5. Gently fold the meringue into the hot custard until well combined and fluffy.
  6. Place one sheet of baked pastry in a tray, spread the warm custard evenly over it, then cover with the second pastry sheet.
  7. Let it cool completely, then refrigerate for a few hours until set.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
