
(Túrós Palacsinta)
Túrós palacsinta is a beloved Hungarian dessert made with thin, delicate crepes filled with lightly sweetened cottage cheese. They can be served simply rolled and dusted with powdered sugar — or baked with sour cream for an extra creamy finish.
📝 Ingredients
For the Crepes:
- 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1¼ cups (300 ml) milk
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp oil or melted butter
For the Cottage Cheese Filling:
- 1½ cups (350 g) farmer’s cheese or dry cottage cheese
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Zest of ½ lemon
- 2 tbsp sour cream
- 2 tbsp raisins (optional)
Optional Baked Topping:
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 tbsp sugar
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Make the Crepes
- Whisk flour, eggs, milk, salt, sugar, and oil until smooth.
- Let batter rest 15–20 minutes.
- Cook thin crepes in a lightly greased pan (about 30–45 seconds per side).
- Stack and set aside.
2️⃣ Prepare Filling
- Mix cottage cheese, sugar, vanilla, lemon zest, sour cream, and raisins.
3️⃣ Fill & Roll
- Spread 2–3 tablespoons filling on each crepe.
- Fold sides in slightly and roll up.
4️⃣ Serve Two Ways
Classic Version:
Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.
Baked Version:
- Arrange filled crepes in a buttered baking dish.
- Mix sour cream with sugar and spread over top.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15–20 minutes.
