👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Prepare batter:
    Beat egg yolks with half the sugar and vanilla until creamy.
  2. In another bowl, beat egg whites with salt, then gradually add remaining sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
  3. Gently fold egg whites into yolk mixture, then fold in flour.

  1. Bake layers:
    Divide batter into 5–6 thin layers and bake each at 180°C (350°F) for 6–8 minutes until lightly golden. Let cool.

  1. Make buttercream:
    Beat butter with powdered sugar until fluffy.
  2. Add melted chocolate and vanilla, mix until smooth.

  1. Assemble cake:
    Layer sponge sheets with chocolate buttercream.
  2. Cover the sides with remaining cream.

  1. Prepare caramel topping:
    Melt sugar in a pan until golden.
  2. Quickly pour over the top layer and spread evenly. Score into slices before it hardens.
