
Instructions
1. Make the dough
- Mix warm milk + yeast, rest 5 minutes.
- Combine flour, sugar, salt.
- Add butter, egg, and yeast mixture.
- Knead into a smooth dough.
- Rest 30–40 minutes (light rise).
2. Prepare the fillings
- Mix ground walnuts with sugar in a bowl.
- Warm apricot jam slightly so it spreads easily.
3. Assemble
Divide dough into 3 equal parts.
Roll each into a rectangle to fit your baking pan.
Layer in this order:
- Dough sheet
- Apricot jam
- Walnut-sugar mixture
Repeat layers.
Finish with the final dough sheet on top.
Prick top with a fork.
4. Bake
Bake at 180°C / 350°F for 25–30 minutes
until lightly golden.
Let cool completely.
5. Add the chocolate glaze
Melt chocolate + butter together.
Spread evenly over the cooled cake.
Let glaze set before slicing.
Cut into bars or diamonds and serve.
