Instructions

1. Make the dough

  1. Mix warm milk + yeast, rest 5 minutes.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, salt.
  3. Add butter, egg, and yeast mixture.
  4. Knead into a smooth dough.
  5. Rest 30–40 minutes (light rise).

2. Prepare the fillings

  • Mix ground walnuts with sugar in a bowl.
  • Warm apricot jam slightly so it spreads easily.

3. Assemble

Divide dough into 3 equal parts.
Roll each into a rectangle to fit your baking pan.

Layer in this order:

  1. Dough sheet
  2. Apricot jam
  3. Walnut-sugar mixture

Repeat layers.
Finish with the final dough sheet on top.
Prick top with a fork.


4. Bake

Bake at 180°C / 350°F for 25–30 minutes
until lightly golden.

Let cool completely.


5. Add the chocolate glaze

Melt chocolate + butter together.
Spread evenly over the cooled cake.
Let glaze set before slicing.


Cut into bars or diamonds and serve.
