
These are soft sweet rolls filled with smooth vanilla cream — perfect for dessert or tea time 🤍
🔹 Ingredients
For the Dough:
- 3 cups (375g) all-purpose flour
- 2¼ tsp (1 packet) instant yeast
- ¼ cup (50g) sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup (240ml) warm milk
- ¼ cup (60g) butter, melted
- 1 egg
For the Vanilla Cream Filling:
- 2 cups (480ml) milk
- ½ cup (100g) sugar
- 4 egg yolks
- ¼ cup (30g) cornstarch
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
🔹 Instructions
Step 1: Make the Dough
- In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes.
- Add egg, melted butter, salt, and flour.
- Knead 8–10 minutes until soft and elastic.
- Cover and let rise 1–1.5 hours until doubled.
Step 2: Shape & Bake
- Divide dough into equal pieces.
- Roll into small logs or balls.
- Place on lined baking tray and let rise 30 minutes.
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 15–20 minutes until golden.
- Cool completely.
Step 3: Make Vanilla Cream
- Heat milk until steaming.
- Whisk yolks, sugar, and cornstarch.
- Slowly add warm milk while whisking.
- Return to heat and cook until thick.
- Stir in butter and vanilla.
- Chill completely.
Step 4: Fill the Rolls
- Make a small hole in each roll.
- Pipe vanilla cream inside.
- Dust with powdered sugar (optional).
