2. Make filling
Mix together:

- cooked rice
- onion
- garlic
- egg
- tomato sauce
- salt, pepper, paprika, thyme
3. Roll
- Trim thick stem from leaf for easier rolling
- Add 2–3 tbsp filling
- Fold sides over and roll tightly
Place seam-side down.
4. Make sauce
In a bowl, combine:
- tomato sauce
- sugar
- vinegar
- Worcestershire
- salt & pepper
Adjust sweetness and acidity to taste.
5. Cook
Option 1: Stovetop
- Place rolls tightly in a large pot
- Pour sauce over
- Cover and simmer 60–90 mins on low
Option 2: Oven
- Place in baking dish, cover tightly with foil
- Bake 350°F / 175°C for 1½ hours
Option 3: Slow cooker
- 6–7 hours on low
