- 1 lb ground beef or lamb
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 4 cups mashed potatoes (prepared ahead)
- 1–2 tbsp butter (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, cook ground meat over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion and garlic; sauté 3–4 minutes until soft.
- Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, mixed vegetables, salt, and pepper. Cook 5 minutes until heated through.
- Transfer meat mixture to a baking dish. Spread mashed potatoes on top, smoothing with a spatula. Dot with butter if desired.
- Bake 20–25 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden and edges are bubbling.
🔥 Tips:
- Sprinkle a little shredded cheese on top before baking for extra indulgence.
- Use leftover mashed potatoes—it actually tastes even better!
