🛒 Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled & diced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups seafood stock (or chicken stock)
  • 1½ cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz (225 g) white fish (cod/haddock), cubed
  • 8 oz (225 g) shrimp, peeled & chopped
  • 6 oz (170 g) scallops (optional)
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • ½ tsp Old Bay or paprika
  • Fresh parsley or chives (for garnish)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a pot over medium heat.
  2. Sauté onion and celery until soft (5 minutes).
  3. Add garlic; cook 30 seconds.
  4. Stir in flour and cook 1 minute.
  5. Gradually whisk in stock.
  6. Add potatoes and simmer 12–15 minutes until tender.
  7. Stir in milk, cream, and seasoning.
  8. Add fish, shrimp, and scallops.
  9. Simmer gently 5–7 minutes (don’t boil).
  10. Taste and adjust seasoning.

🍽️ Serve With

  • Crusty bread or oyster crackers 🥖
  • Lemon wedges (optional)
