🛒 Ingredients
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 2 medium potatoes, peeled & diced
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 3 cups seafood stock (or chicken stock)
- 1½ cups milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 oz (225 g) white fish (cod/haddock), cubed
- 8 oz (225 g) shrimp, peeled & chopped
- 6 oz (170 g) scallops (optional)
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
- ½ tsp Old Bay or paprika
- Fresh parsley or chives (for garnish)
👩🍳 Instructions
- Melt butter in a pot over medium heat.
- Sauté onion and celery until soft (5 minutes).
- Add garlic; cook 30 seconds.
- Stir in flour and cook 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in stock.
- Add potatoes and simmer 12–15 minutes until tender.
- Stir in milk, cream, and seasoning.
- Add fish, shrimp, and scallops.
- Simmer gently 5–7 minutes (don’t boil).
- Taste and adjust seasoning.
🍽️ Serve With
- Crusty bread or oyster crackers 🥖
- Lemon wedges (optional)
