- Cook the Potatoes
Boil whole, unpeeled potatoes in salted water until fork-tender. Let them cool, then peel and slice into rounds. - Prepare the Sour Cream Mixture
In a bowl, mix the sour cream with the 2 raw eggs, mustard (if using), salt, and pepper. This makes the layers extra creamy and rich — a GastroHobbi signature. - Grease a Casserole Dish
Use butter or oil to grease a baking dish generously. - Layer the Ingredients
- Start with a layer of sliced potatoes.
- Add a layer of sliced hard-boiled eggs.
- Add sliced sausage.
- Spoon over some of the sour cream mixture.
- Repeat layers until ingredients are used up, finishing with potatoes and sour cream on top.
- Top With Cheese (Optional)
Sprinkle grated cheese on top for a golden crust. - Bake
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake for 30–40 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown on top.
🍽️ Serving Tip:
Let it sit for 10–15 minutes before slicing. Serve with pickles or a cucumber salad for a traditional touch.
