Potato Patties with Meat Filling

👩‍🍳 INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cook the potatoes

Boil potatoes in salted water until soft.
Drain, mash, and mix with butter, salt, pepper, egg, and flour.
You want a soft, workable dough — not sticky.

2. Make the meat filling

Heat oil in a pan.
Add onion (and carrot if using) and cook until soft.
Add meat and cook until browned.
Add garlic, paprika, cumin, salt & pepper.
Cook until dry — no liquid.
Cool slightly.

3. Form the patties

Wet your hands slightly.
Take a spoonful of potato dough, flatten in your hand.
Add a spoonful of filling in the center.
Close and shape into a patty (oval or round).

4. Cook

Heat a thin layer of oil in a pan.
Pan-fry patties 3–4 min per side until golden and crispy.

🤤 RESULT

Golden potato outside, juicy savoury meat inside —
soft, crispy, comforting and delicious!
