Pasta with Semolina & Apricot Jam (Grízes Tészta)

A simple and comforting Hungarian sweet dish—soft pasta tossed with sweetened semolina and apricot jam. Quick, cozy, and nostalgic.


Ingredients

  • 250 g wide egg noodles or pasta
  • 4 tbsp semolina
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3–4 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
  • ½ cup apricot jam
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta in salted water until tender; drain.
  2. In a pan, melt butter and lightly toast semolina until golden.
  3. Stir in sugar and a pinch of salt.
  4. Mix the cooked pasta with the semolina mixture.
  5. Add apricot jam on top and toss gently to combine.
  6. Serve warm, optionally with extra butter or a dusting of powdered sugar.
