Instructions
- Marinate the beef
- In a bowl, mix the beef with 1 tbsp soy sauce and 1 tsp sugar. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes.
- Prepare the sauce
- In a small bowl, combine the oyster sauce with 2–3 tbsp water or beef broth. Set aside.
- Stir-fry the beef
- Heat oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
- Add the beef and stir-fry quickly until it’s mostly cooked but still tender (about 2–3 minutes). Remove from pan and set aside.
- Cook the onions and garlic
- In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed.
- Stir-fry the onions until slightly softened (2–3 minutes), then add garlic and cook until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
- Combine everything
- Return the beef to the pan.
- Pour in the oyster sauce mixture and stir everything together, cooking for another 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the beef and onions.
- Serve
- Garnish with sliced green onions if desired.
- Serve immediately over steamed rice or noodles.
💡 Tips:
- For extra tenderness, you can marinate the beef with 1 tsp cornstarch and 1 tsp vegetable oil.
- Use high heat for quick stir-frying to keep the beef tender and flavorful.
- Add bell peppers or mushrooms if you like more veggies in your stir-fry.
If you want, I can also give a slightly saucier, restaurant-style version that has a glossy oyster sauce coating and a bit of caramelized sweetness. It’s really addictive.
Do you want me to share that version too?
