🍽️ Old-Fashioned Meatloaf

🛒 Ingredients

Meatloaf

  • 1½ lbs ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or crushed saltine crackers
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Classic Topping

  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
    Grease a loaf pan or line with parchment.
  2. Mix gently
    In a large bowl, combine milk and breadcrumbs.
    Add eggs, onion, seasoning, Worcestershire, and ground beef.
    Mix just until combined—don’t overmix.
  3. Shape
    Place mixture into loaf pan or shape into a loaf on a baking sheet.
  4. Add topping
    Mix ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard.
    Spread evenly over meatloaf.
  5. Bake
    Bake uncovered for 60–70 minutes, until internal temp reaches 160°F (71°C).
  6. Rest
    Let stand 10 minutes before slicing.
