Dough
- 3 cups all-purpose flour

Walnut Filling
- 2 cups ground walnuts
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Zest of 1 lemon (optional)

- Powdered sugar
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Make the dough
In a bowl, mix flour and salt.
Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
Add sour cream, sugar, and vanilla.
Knead just until dough comes together.
Divide dough into 4 equal portions.
Wrap and chill 30–45 minutes.
2️⃣ Prepare walnut filling
In a saucepan, heat milk and sugar until sugar dissolves.
Stir in ground walnuts, vanilla, and lemon zest.
Cook 1–2 minutes until thick but spreadable.
Cool completely.
3️⃣ Roll & fill
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Line baking sheet.
Roll one dough portion into a rectangle (thin).
Spread walnut filling evenly (don’t overfill).
Roll tightly, seam side down.
Repeat with remaining dough.
4️⃣ Bake
Bake 18–22 minutes, until lightly golden.
Cool slightly.
5️⃣ Finish
Dust generously with powdered sugar.
Slice into cookies or serve as rolls.
