Ingredients

  • 3½ cups (440 g) all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup (50 g) sugar
  • 2¼ tsp (7 g) active dry yeast
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • ¼ cup (60 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tsp salt

Egg Wash

  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let stand 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add eggs, butter, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour and knead until soft and elastic (8–10 minutes).
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1–1½ hours until doubled.
  5. Divide dough into 12–15 pieces. Shape into smooth rolls and place on a lined baking tray.
  6. Cover and let rise again 30–40 minutes.
  7. Brush with egg wash.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 18–22 minutes until golden.
  9. Cool slightly and serve warm.

Tips

  • Brush with melted butter after baking for extra softness
