MILK BRIOCHE ROLLS

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Activate yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Add yeast, stir, and let it sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Make the dough
In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer, combine flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and eggs. Mix until combined, then gradually add butter, a few cubes at a time, until dough is soft and elastic.
  3. Knead and rise
Knead dough for 10 minutes by hand or with a dough hook until smooth and glossy. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1½ to 2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  4. Shape rolls
Punch down dough and divide into 12 equal pieces. Shape each into a smooth ball and place in a greased baking dish or on a parchment-lined tray.
  5. Second rise
Cover and let rise again for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until puffy.
  6. Bake
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush rolls with egg wash and bake for 18–22 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Cool slightly
Let the rolls cool for 10 minutes before serving.

🍯 Optional Topping Ideas:

  • Brush with melted butter or honey after baking
  • Sprinkle sesame or poppy seeds before baking
  • Serve with jam, Nutella, or cheese
