Loquat Immune-Boosting Jam

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Prepare the loquats
    • Remove skins if desired (they soften during cooking, so this is optional)
    • Slice out seeds & the inner membrane
  2. Cook the jam
    • In a pot, combine loquats, sugar, water, lemon juice, and ginger
    • Bring to a boil over medium heat
    • Reduce to low and simmer 25–35 minutes, stirring occasionally
    • As it cooks, mash with a spoon for smoother jam
  3. Add immune spices
    • Stir in turmeric (and cinnamon/cloves if using)
    • Simmer 5 more minutes
  4. Test consistency
    • Place a bit on a chilled plate — if it thickens and doesn’t run, it’s ready
  5. Store
    • Pour hot jam into sterilized glass jars
    • Seal and let cool
    • Refrigerate up to 3 weeks
    • For longer storage, process jars in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes
