1. Prepare the Dough
- In a small bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Add yeast mixture and oil.
- Knead until smooth and soft (about 8–10 minutes).
- Cover and let rise for 1 hour, until doubled in size.
2. Shape the Lángos
- Divide dough into equal portions.
- Shape each into a ball, then flatten into discs (about 1 cm thick).
- Stretch slightly in the center to create the traditional shape.
3. Fry
- Heat oil in a deep pan.
- Fry each piece for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
4. Prepare Garlic Topping
- Mix crushed garlic with water.
- Brush over hot lángos.
5. Serve
- Spread with sour cream and sprinkle with grated cheese.
