
Lángos (Hungarian Fried Flatbread)
Ingredients
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 7 g dry yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1½ tsp salt
- 300 ml warm water
- 2 tbsp oil
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water; rest 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Mix flour and salt, add yeast mixture and oil; knead until soft and elastic.
- Cover and let rise 45–60 minutes, until doubled.
- Divide dough into balls; rest 10 minutes.
- Stretch each into a thin round with thicker edges.
- Fry in hot oil (170–180°C / 340–355°F) until golden on both sides.
- Drain on paper towels.
Serve with: garlic water, sour cream, grated cheese.
