
Instructions
- Mix yeast with warm milk and a little sugar, let sit 10 minutes.
- In a bowl combine flour, butter, sugar, salt, egg yolks, and yeast mixture.
- Knead into a soft dough and let rise 1 hour.
- For filling, heat milk with sugar, then mix with walnuts, cinnamon, vanilla, and zest. Let cool.
- Roll dough into a rectangle and spread filling evenly.
- Roll tightly into a log and cut into smaller rolls or leave as one long roll.
- Place on baking tray, brush with egg.
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes until golden.
