
🍏 Hungarian Apple Tart – Almás Pite 🇭🇺
A tender, flaky crust holds a warmly spiced apple filling, all crowned with a buttery streusel.
📝 Ingredients (Serves 8)
For the Pastry Crust:
- 1¾ cups (220 g) all-purpose flour
- ½ cup (55 g) powdered sugar
- Pinch of salt
- ¾ cup (170 g) cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1–2 tbsp cold water (as needed)
For the Apple Filling:
- 4–5 medium tart apples (Granny Smith or Jonagold), peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- Zest of ½ lemon (optional)
For the Streusel Topping:
- ½ cup (65 g) all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar
- 1⁄3 cup (40 g) cold unsalted butter, cubed
