Hungarian Strawberry Jelly Cake (Epres Zselés Süti)

Ingredients

Cake base

  • 4 eggs
  • 120 g sugar
  • 120 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar

Top

  • 300 g strawberries
  • 1 pack strawberry jelly (gelatin dessert powder)
  • 400 ml water

Instructions

  1. Beat eggs with sugar and vanilla sugar until fluffy.
  2. Add flour and baking powder, mix gently.
  3. Pour into a baking pan and bake at 180°C for 15–20 minutes.
  4. Let the cake cool.
  5. Place sliced strawberries on top of the cake.
  6. Prepare the strawberry jelly with hot water and let it cool slightly.
  7. Pour the jelly over the strawberries.
  8. Refrigerate 1–2 hours until set.
  9. Cut into squares and serve.
