
Hungarian Paprikash Chicken (With Meatballs) – Recipe Only
Ingredients:
- 500 g chicken thighs or breast, cut into pieces
- 250 g ground pork or chicken (for meatballs)
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp oil or lard
- 2 tbsp sweet Hungarian paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp marjoram (optional)
- 1 cup chicken broth or water
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tbsp flour
Meatballs:
- Ground meat
- 1 small onion, grated
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 2–3 tbsp breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper
Instructions:
- Mix meatball ingredients, form small balls, set aside.
- Heat oil in a pot, sauté onion until soft.
- Remove from heat, stir in paprika, then add chicken pieces, salt, and pepper.
- Add broth, return to heat, simmer 20 minutes.
- Add meatballs and cook 15 more minutes until done.
- Mix sour cream with flour, stir into stew.
- Simmer 5 minutes until creamy. Serve hot.
