Hungarian Pancakes (Palacsinta)

Ingredients

  • 250 g (2 cups) all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 500 ml (2 cups) milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon oil or melted butter
  • Oil or butter for cooking

For serving (optional):

  • Jam, sweet cheese, or sugar
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk flour, eggs, milk, sugar, salt, and oil until smooth and thin.
  2. Let the batter rest for 15–20 minutes.
  3. Heat a lightly oiled non-stick pan over medium heat.
  4. Pour a small ladle of batter and swirl to coat the pan thinly.
  5. Cook for about 1 minute, flip, and cook the other side briefly.
  6. Repeat with remaining batter.
  7. Fill, roll, or fold the pancakes as desired.
  8. Dust lightly with powdered sugar before serving
