Hungarian Meatballs (Fasírt) – Recipe Only

Ingredients:

  • 500 g ground pork or mixed pork & beef
  • 1 small onion, finely grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or soaked bread, squeezed)
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp marjoram (optional but traditional)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Mix ground meat, onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, paprika, salt, pepper, and marjoram.
  2. Form small oval or round meatballs.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  4. Fry meatballs until golden brown and cooked through, turning as needed.
  5. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
