Hungarian Lecsó – Pepper-Tomato Stew


Instructions:

  1. Sauté onion:
    Heat oil in a pan and cook sliced onion until soft.
  2. Add paprika:
    Remove from heat briefly, stir in paprika (prevents burning).
  3. Add vegetables:
    Add peppers and tomatoes. Stir well.
  4. Cook:
    Simmer on medium heat for 20–30 minutes until soft and slightly thickened.
  5. Optional additions:
    • Add sliced sausage for a heartier version
    • Crack in eggs at the end and stir (like scrambled eggs)
  6. Serve:
    Serve hot with bread, rice, or eggs.
