Ingredients
- 2 lbs (1 kg) potatoes
- 4–5 hard-boiled eggs, sliced
- 12 oz (340 g) Hungarian smoked sausage, sliced
- 1½ cups sour cream
- 2 tablespoons butter or oil
- 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon sweet Hungarian paprika
Directions
- Boil potatoes in their skins until just tender. Cool, peel, and slice.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
- Layer half the potatoes in the dish. Season lightly with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Add half the sliced eggs and sausage.
- Spread a layer of sour cream on top.
- Repeat layers, finishing with sour cream on top.
- Dot with butter and sprinkle lightly with paprika.
- Bake 30–40 minutes until heated through and slightly golden on top.
