🇭🇺🥐 Hungarian Kiffles (Kifli / Kolache Cookies)
⭐ YIELD:
Makes about 60–80 cookies, depending on size
🟡 DOUGH:
- 2 cups flour (240 g)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, cold, cubed (225 g)
- 8 oz cream cheese, cold (225 g)
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tbsp sugar
- Pinch of salt
- Powdered sugar for dusting
🟤 TRADITIONAL FILLINGS:
🔹 Walnut Filling:
- 2 cups ground walnuts
- ½ cup sugar
- ¼–½ cup milk
- ½ tsp vanilla
- Pinch cinnamon (optional)
Mix to a spreadable paste (not runny).
🔹 Apricot Filling:
- 1 cup apricot preserves
