Hungarian Honey Walnut Kisses

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg flour
  • 300 g honey
  • 200 g sugar
  • 250 g butter or margarine
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 250 g ground walnuts
  • 1–2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Filling (optional):

  • Jam or apricot preserve
  • Walnut cream or chocolate spread

Instructions:

  1. Warm honey, sugar, and butter together until melted, then let cool slightly.
  2. Mix flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and ground walnuts.
  3. Add eggs and the honey mixture, then knead into a soft dough.
  4. Let dough rest for 30 minutes.
  5. Roll out and cut into small circles.
  6. Bake at 180°C for 10–12 minutes until lightly golden.
  7. Once cooled, optionally sandwich with jam or filling.
  8. Store in a sealed container for soft texture.
