👩🍳 Instructions:
- Cook the Noodles:
Boil noodles in salted water according to package directions. Drain and set aside. - Sauté the Onion and Cabbage:
In a large skillet or pot, melt the butter (or lard).
Add chopped onions and cook until golden.
Add the shredded cabbage, season with salt and pepper, and cook over medium heat until soft and slightly caramelized (about 15–20 minutes). Stir often. - Add Bacon or Paprika (Optional):
If using bacon or sausage, fry it separately and stir it into the cabbage.
If using paprika, stir it in once the cabbage is tender and off the heat to avoid burning it. - Combine:
Add the cooked noodles to the pan with the cabbage mixture. Toss everything gently together over low heat for a few minutes so the flavors combine. - Serve:
Serve warm with a side of sour cream or a sprinkle of fresh parsley, if desired.
🍽️ Tips:
- For a vegetarian version, just use butter and skip the meat.
- Leftovers reheat well — and some say it’s even better the next day!
