🇭🇺 Hungarian Green Pea Soup (Zöldborsóleves)
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp oil or butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 cups green peas (fresh or frozen)

- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp flour
- 5 cups water or broth
- Optional: 1 bay leaf
- Optional finish: parsley, a splash of cream, or nokedli
Instructions
- Sauté onion in oil/butter until soft.
- Add carrots; cook 2–3 minutes.
- Stir in paprika and flour; mix well.
- Add peas, salt, pepper, bay leaf.
- Pour in water/broth; stir.
- Simmer 15–20 minutes, until vegetables are tender.
- Optional: stir in a splash of cream or add nokedli.
- Remove bay leaf, garnish with parsley, and serve.
