Hungarian Goulash

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Base:
    • Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden.
    • Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  2. Add the Meat:
    • Add beef cubes to the pot and brown on all sides.
  3. Season and Simmer:
    • Sprinkle paprika, caraway seeds, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
    • Add tomato paste and stir. Pour in beef broth or water and bring to a boil.
  4. Cook the Vegetables:
    • Reduce heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 1.5–2 hours, stirring occasionally.
    • Add potatoes, carrots, and bell peppers during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  5. Adjust the Flavor:
    • Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  6. Serve:
    • Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley, alongside crusty bread or noodles.
