
Ingredients
- 2 lbs beef chuck, cut into cubes
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil or lard
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp Hungarian paprika
- 1 tsp caraway seeds
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 4 cups beef broth
- 2 potatoes, diced
- 1 carrot, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Cook onions until soft and golden.
- Add garlic, paprika, and caraway seeds; stir for about 1 minute.
- Add beef cubes and cook until browned on all sides.
- Stir in tomato paste and pour in beef broth.
- Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook 1–1½ hours until beef becomes tender.
- Add potatoes, carrots, and bell pepper.
- Continue cooking 20–30 minutes until vegetables are tender.
- Season with salt and pepper, garnish with parsley, and serve hot.
