Hungarian Fried Bread (Lángos)

Ingredients

  • 500 g flour
  • 250 ml warm milk
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 7 g dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Mix yeast, sugar, and warm milk. Let sit 10 minutes.
  2. Add flour, salt, and oil. Knead into soft dough.
  3. Cover and let rise 1 hour.
  4. Divide dough into small balls.
  5. Flatten each into a round shape.
  6. Fry in hot oil 2–3 minutes per side until golden.
  7. Serve with garlic, sour cream, or cheese.
