
Instructions
- Bake puff pastry sheets at 180°C (350°F) for 15–20 minutes until golden. Let cool.
- In a bowl whisk egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch.
- Heat milk until warm, then slowly add to the mixture while stirring.
- Return to heat and cook until thick custard forms.
- Stir in vanilla.
- Place one pastry sheet in a pan.
- Spread hot custard evenly on top.
- (Optional) Add whipped cream layer.
- Place second pastry sheet on top.
- Chill for 2–3 hours.
- Dust with powdered sugar and cut into squares.
