
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in warm milk with a little sugar; let sit 10 minutes.
- Mix flour, sugar, and salt. Add egg, melted butter, and yeast mixture to form a soft dough.
- Knead until smooth and let rise 1 hour until doubled.
- Roll dough into long strips and wrap around greased wooden cylinders or metal tubes.
- Brush with melted butter and roll in sugar.
- Bake at 375°F / 190°C for 15–20 minutes, turning until golden and caramelized.
- Remove from the mold and roll in optional toppings. Serve warm.
