**Ingredients
(for 4 people)**
Chicken:
- 2–2.5 lbs (1–1.2 kg) chicken thighs, bone-in, skin removed
(drumsticks or whole chicken pieces also work)
Base:
- 2 tbsp lard or oil (traditional: lard)
- 2 large onions, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp Hungarian sweet paprika
- 1 tsp hot paprika (optional)
- 1 tsp caraway seeds (optional, crushed)
Liquid:
- 1–1.5 cups chicken broth or water
Finish:
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp flour
Optional:
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 tomato, chopped
