
Instructions
1. Activate yeast
- Mix warm milk + yeast. Rest 5 minutes.
2. Make dough
- Add flour + salt to a bowl.
- Rub in cold butter until crumbly.
- Add cheese, egg, sour cream, and yeast mixture.
- Mix and knead until a soft dough forms.
- Cover and rise 45–60 minutes.
3. Shape
- Roll dough to about 1.5–2 cm (¾ inch) thick.
- Score the top lightly with a knife (crosshatch pattern).
- Cut into small rounds using a cutter or small glass.
4. Bake
- Place on tray.
- Brush tops with beaten egg.
- Sprinkle cheese.
- Bake at 200°C / 400°F for 15–18 minutes, until golden.
5. Serve
Warm, soft, cheesy, buttery — perfect with soup, tea, or snacks.
