Instructions

- Stir in grated cheese.
- Add sour cream and the egg, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Shape the Biscuits
- Lightly flour a work surface and roll dough to about ½-inch thickness.
- Use a small round cutter (or a glass) to cut out biscuits. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Add Egg Wash
- Brush the tops with beaten egg yolk. Sprinkle seeds on top if desired.
- Bake
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, until golden brown on top.
- Serve
- Let cool slightly and serve warm or at room temperature. Perfect with tea or coffee!
Tips:
- For a richer flavor, use half butter and half lard (traditional in Hungary).
- You can mix in a little paprika for a subtle smoky flavor.
- Pogácsa dough can also be refrigerated for a few hours before baking; just roll and cut when ready.
If you want, I can also give you a quick 10-minute version using pre-shredded cheese and no chilling time. It’s super fast and still fluffy. Do you want me to do that?
