Hungarian Apple Pite


Instructions:

  1. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add butter and rub until crumbly.
  3. Add egg and sour cream; knead into a soft dough.
  4. Divide dough into two parts.
  5. Roll out one half and place in a baking pan.
  6. Squeeze excess juice from apples, then mix with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  7. Sprinkle breadcrumbs over the dough, then spread apple filling.
  8. Roll out second dough and place on top; seal edges.
  9. Prick top with a fork.
  10. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 35–40 minutes until golden.

Cool slightly, slice, and serve.
