Instructions:

  1. Activate the Yeast:
    In a bowl, combine warm water and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over it and let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Prepare the Dough:
    In a large mixing bowl, mix the warm milk, remaining sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Add the activated yeast mixture.
  3. Add Dry Ingredients:

  6. Second Rise:
    Place cut doughnuts on parchment paper. Cover and let rise for 30-45 minutes.

    In a deep pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Fry the Doughnuts:
    Fry each doughnut for 1-2 minutes per side or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

    Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
