Easy Homemade Bread 🍞✨

Ingredients

  • 4 cups (500 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2¼ tsp (7 g) instant yeast
  • 1½ cups (360 ml) warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter

Instructions

  1. Mix
    • In a bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
    • Add warm water and oil. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  2. Knead
    • Knead 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. First rise
    • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1 hour or until doubled.
  4. Shape
    • Punch down, shape into a loaf, and place in a greased pan.
  5. Second rise
    • Cover and rise 30–40 minutes.
  6. Bake
    • Bake at 180°C / 350°F for 30–35 minutes until golden.
  7. Cool
    • Cool on a rack before slicing.

Tips

  • Brush top with butter for a soft crust 🧈
  • For crusty bread, place a small oven-safe dish of water in the oven
