
🇭🇺 Székely Gulyás (Szekler Goulash) Recipe
📋 Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons lard (or vegetable oil)
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 ½ pounds (700g) pork shoulder or pork stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons Hungarian sweet paprika
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional but traditional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 cups (500ml) water or light broth
- 1 ½ pounds (700g) sauerkraut, drained and lightly rinsed
- 1 bay leaf
- ½ cup (120ml) sour cream
- 1 tablespoon flour (for thickening, optional)
