
Ingredients
For the Cake:
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup ground hazelnuts
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 3 large eggs
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¾ cup milk
For the Chocolate Hazelnut Frosting:
- ½ cup butter, softened
- ½ cup chocolate hazelnut spread (e.g., Nutella)
- 1–2 cups powdered sugar
- 2–3 tbsp milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C / 350°F. Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, ground hazelnuts, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk eggs, oil, milk, and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients until smooth. Pour into prepared pan.
- Bake 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
- For frosting, beat butter and chocolate hazelnut spread until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and milk until desired consistency.
- Frost the cooled cake and optionally garnish with chopped hazelnuts or chocolate shavings.
