Ingredients

- ¾ cup (150 g) sugar
- ½ cup (120 ml) vegetable oil or melted butter
- 3 large eggs (room temperature)
- ¾ cup (180 ml) milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Chocolate-Hazelnut Cream
- 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
- 200 g chocolate hazelnut spread (Nutella-style)
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar (optional)
Chocolate Glaze (optional but amazing)
- 100 g dark chocolate, chopped
- ½ cup (120 ml) heavy cream
Instructions
1. Prepare the Cake
- Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F). Grease and line a 20–22 cm (8–9 inch) round pan.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, ground hazelnuts, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat eggs with sugar until pale.
- Add oil (or butter), milk, and vanilla. Mix well.
- Gradually fold in dry ingredients until smooth.
- Pour into pan and bake 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely, then slice into 2 layers.
2. Make the Chocolate-Hazelnut Cream
- Whip cold heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- Gently fold in chocolate hazelnut spread and powdered sugar.
- Chill 10–15 minutes for better structure.
3. Assemble
- Spread half of the cream on the first cake layer.
- Place second layer on top.
- Cover the top and sides with remaining cream.
4. Chocolate Glaze (Optional)
- Heat cream until just steaming.
- Pour over chopped chocolate, wait 1 minute, then stir smooth.
- Let cool slightly and drizzle over the cake.
