Hamburger Potato Casserole 🥔🍔

A hearty, budget-friendly comfort food made with layers of seasoned ground beef and tender potatoes in a creamy sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • ½ tsp paprika or garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven
    Preheat to 350°F (180°C). Grease a casserole dish.
  2. Cook Beef
    Heat oil in a pan, cook ground beef with onion until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Drain excess fat.
  3. Assemble Casserole
    Layer half of the potatoes in the dish. Add half of the beef mixture.
    Repeat layers.
  4. Add Sauce
    Mix soup with milk and pour evenly over the casserole. Sprinkle cheese on top.
  5. Bake
    Cover with foil and bake 45–50 minutes until potatoes are tender.
    Uncover and bake 10 more minutes until golden.
  6. Serve
    Let rest 5 minutes before serving.

💡 Tip: Add sliced mushrooms or green beans for extra flavor and texture.
