1. Mix the dough (very soft!)
In a bowl, whisk:
- flour
- sugar
- salt
- yeast
Add:
- warm milk
- warm water
- egg
- melted butter
Mix until a soft, sticky dough forms.
Sticky dough = fluffiest rolls!
Don’t add extra flour unless absolutely necessary.
2. Knead
Knead 6–8 minutes by hand or mixer until smooth and stretchy.
3. First rise
Cover bowl and let dough rise 1 hour or until doubled.
4. Shape
- Punch down dough gently.
- Divide into 12–15 pieces.
- Roll each into a smooth ball.
- Place in a greased baking dish, edges touching.
5. Second rise
Let rolls rise 30–40 minutes, VERY puffy.
6. Bake
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–18 minutes, until lightly golden.
7. Make them irresistible
Brush HOT rolls with melted butter (or butter + honey).
This makes them shiny, soft, and extra fluffy.

- Use warm milk, not hot.
- Dough must be soft and slightly sticky.
- Let rolls touch each other in the pan — they rise higher.
- Butter right after baking.
- You can replace some milk with heavy cream for extra richness.
