Dobos Torte (Hungarian Dobos Torta) 🇭🇺


Instructions:

  1. Beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add vanilla and salt, then gently fold in flour.
  3. Divide batter into 6 thin layers and bake each at 180°C (350°F) for 6–8 minutes. Cool completely.
  4. Beat butter and powdered sugar until creamy.
  5. Add melted chocolate and vanilla; mix until smooth.
  6. Stack layers, spreading chocolate buttercream between each layer.
  7. For caramel: melt sugar with lemon juice until golden.
  8. Pour over the top layer and quickly spread.
  9. Score into slices before it hardens.
  10. Let set, then slice and serve.
